The speaker Chrissie Harper will talk about her work with tawny owls, barn owls, little owls and kestrels at Chrissie’s Owls at Stonesfield near Charlbury where she provides a rescue service for injured wild owls and captive bred owls that need caring for and rehoming.  This is a non-profit organisation.  Chrissie will bring several of her captive bred owls to help illustrate her talk.  The talk will start at 2.30pm and be followed by refreshments for everyone.  All members are welcome to attend but visitors are required to pay £1.50 each.

NB  We want everyone coming to U3A to feel safe and protected, so we ask that you only attend general meetings if you are feeling well and are not showing signs of Covid.  Please take a test if you are in any doubt, and in that way we can try to safeguard all members attending talks and events.

We are emailing to invite you to have your say on proposed changes to the conservation area in Great Coxwell as you have been identified as an important stakeholder.

What is a conservation area?
The village’s conservation area is the designated area of special architectural or historic interest which exists to protect the features and characteristics that make Great Coxwell a historic, unique and distinctive place.

Why are we reviewing the conservation area?
It is a requirement that all councils coordinate and publish appraisals for the preservation and enhancement of conservation areas and that these proposals are reviewed from time to time.

This is the first comprehensive Conservation Area Appraisal document that has been produced for Great Coxwell. The document has been authored by the Great Coxwell neighbourhood plan team. We have a statutory duty to consult the public on this new document before it is adopted.

What happens next
After the consultation period ends, we will consider your comments and make appropriate changes to the draft document and boundary revision before we proceed to adopt it via the council’s cabinet process. Once adopted, we will publish the cabinet report, new conservation area appraisal document and adopted revised boundary on our website.

Palm Sunday, this Sunday, 10th April at 10am

The service for Palm Sunday, when Palm Crosses will be distributed, will begin at the crossroads at 10 o'clock for a procession down to the church for the service to begin at 10.30.

Sadly this year we will not be lead by a donkey.

We will be joined by members of the congregations of the other churches in our benefice.  As always, everyone is welcome to join us for this special service.
