Land use experts at LUC are supporting South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils to gather information about greenspaces in the districts.
Green Infrastructure and Open Space - public survey As part of this we are asking residents and organisations to complete a short online survey to understand how you use greenspaces in your local area. This ranges from parks and recreation grounds to natural spaces like woodlands and meadows. The survey runs from Thursday 30 May to Sunday 30 June 2024. South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are looking for enthusiastic people to work at the General Election on Thursday 4 July. If you or someone you know (over the age of 18) is interested in working either of the following paid roles, please apply as soon as possible and please encourage your friends and family to do the same:

Sessions for those wishing to support people to vote in the General Election The Electoral Commission is holding online sessions for charities and civil society organisations who wish to support their audiences with registering to vote and the requirement to show photo ID when voting in person. The sessions will be held on:
Voting at a polling station You can vote at your designated polling station on 4 July between 7am and 10pm. Registered voters should receive a poll card shortly before the election which will tell you where you need to go to cast your ballot. Polling station details can also be found by entering your postcode on the Where do I Vote website - wheredoivote.co.uk

If you would prefer the village verge contractor not to cut your grass verge this year, please contact [email protected] If you have let the Parish Council know in previous years that you will manage the verge outside your house and it was managed correctly last year, it is not necessary to contact the Parish Council. Residents who are subscribed to the district council brown bin garden waste service in South Oxfordshire or the Vale of White Horse can have extra garden waste collected for free, on their normal collection day only, between 15 and 26 April.
